“…still my favourite comedy club in the world…” John Oliver
“….The Stand is my comedy home and still the best club in the world…” Kevin Bridges
The Stand Comedy Club is celebrating it’s 30th birthday this year and we have big things planned for our Fringe! This is a great opportunity to be part of Scotland’s premier comedy venue delivering a dynamic program of events in our own bespoke club and other venues across the city.
We are looking for staff in a variety of roles to be part of our team. With flexible hours and a lot going on – no day will be the same and you will also have a chance to watch and work with some of the best in the industry.
We are delighted to announce we recently settled a new pay deal with Unite meaning we now offer the highest entry level wages in the sector. We are very proud of our record in looking after our staff – we are member of the Fringe First Charter and we pay above the real living wage set by the Living Wage Foundation so you can be assured you’re going to be paid fairly, get the appropriate breaks and be treated as part of the Stand family.
If you’re interested in being part of our Fringe celebrations then please send a CV and a covering letter – including your availability to [email protected]
Roles Available
Venue Staff
Our venue staff are responsible for running our bars, looking after our customers and acts and ensuring our shows run smoothly. From checking tickets to serving pints we want our customers to have a fun and friendly experience so we ‘re looking for people with energy, enthusiasm and some experience in a customer facing role.
Tech staff
Our show production is paramount to what we do so we’re looking for anyone with suitable tech experience, a cool head, good at working in a team and liaising directly with acts. Additional training will be provided but some kind of experience running shows would be preferred.
Marketing Staff
We are looking for someone to join our small but busy marketing team. Its our 30th birthday this year and we have a lot planned over the Fringe. We are looking for someone with marketing experience, who can help manage socials and produce content, be comfortable working face to face with customers and clients and has enthusiasm, self motivation and energy. Experience in editing footage would also be a useful skill but not necessary. Additional training will be provided. This would be a part time post in run up to Fringe and full time during August. There is potential for this role to be extended.
