Red Raw

Our long-running weekly beginner’s showcase is regarded as one of the best open mic nights in the UK. Every Monday in Edinburgh, Tuesday's in Glasgow and Wednesday's in Newcastle, catch up to ten new acts – some treading the boards for the very first time. This is where everyone starts, and it’s your chance to see the stars of tomorrow today. Watch out for older hands dropping in to try out new material too.

Please note:

Due to popular demand for slots, we have an application process for performing at Red Raw.

These application slots are designed for newer and less experienced acts who have not performed on red raw previously.

In this round of applications, we are also including non-local acts who are more established.

We open for applications twice a year, in June and November. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide stage time to everyone who applies.

Usually, successful applicants will be given 2 x 5-minute slots on our Red Raw bills and can request feedback from their performances to aid in their development.

Following these 2 slots, there is no guarantee that we can provide further stage time, but we will do our best to accommodate where possible and appropriate.
