Esyllt Sears, Mary Flanigan and Eleanor Morton bring you a chaotic game show that pits Wales, Ireland and Scotland against each other in a series of increasingly silly tasks and games to determine who’s the best of the rest (of us). In a series of increasingly absurd tasks, these Celtic powerhouses compete to determine who is truly the best of the best. Expect high-stakes hilarity with rounds like ‘Chip on My Shoulder,’ ‘Real or Fake Place Names,’ and the culinary engineering challenge: ‘Build a Famous Countryman Using Only National Produce.’ Witness the stars of BBC Radio 4’s The Rest of US battle it out to be crowned champion of the Celts and reign supreme over these sceptred isles. Hosted by a token English/Cornish man Sam Lake, this ramshackle gameshow is guaranteed to be a lot of stupid fun.
Mary Flanigan is a writer and stand-up from Belfast who was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Award in 2023. She's appeared on BBC Radio 4, BBC Ulster and BBC Northern Ireland, and supported Fern Brady on tour, and is a member of the BBC Northern Ireland Writersroom group ‘Belfast Voices’. Esyllt Sears is a stand-up comedian from Aberystwyth , comedy writer and one of the presenters of the Comedy Club (BBC Radio 4 Extra). She co-hosts the I’m So Not Over It podcast with Gareth Gwynn and The Pod of Wales podcast with Kiri Pritchard-McLean. She has performed on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC One Wales in English and on S4C in Welsh.
Eleanor Morton is a writer, actor and comedian from Edinburgh who is perhaps best known for her viral sketches as 'Craig' the dour tour guide. She has also appeared on and written for BBC Radio 4, BBC Scotland & BBC Radio Scotland where she is a frequent panellist for Breaking the News. Her 2024 sell out show Haunted House won a Bestie award and her character comedy show, 'Eleanor & Pals' is now available on BBC Sounds.
Sam Lake was born in Cornwall and now lives in Edinburgh. Accolades include Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year & being nominated for the BBC New Comedy Award. Esméralda, Sam’s third hour and most personal show, was nominated for the ISH Comedy Awards for Best Show. It was one of Rolling Stone’s Top 12 Stand-Out Shows of the Fringe. Sam is also the host of the podcast I’ve Had A Rosé, Let’s Talk About Feelings.
