The Stand’s New Town Theatre is looking for

Technical Production Team Members

for the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe!

The New Town Theatre is a long-standing Edinburgh Fringe venue and 2022 marks it's 4th fabulous year under the banner of The Stand Comedy Club! Previous years have seen the likes of Limmy, Stewart Lee, Piff The Magic Dragon, Omid Djalili, Joe Lycett, Miles Jupp, Sara Pascoe, Reginald D Hunter, Ruby Wax, Larry Dean, Jo Caulfield, Richard Herring, Josie Long and countless other comedians grace the stages. And it’s not just comedy, as the programme always contains the best in theatre, music, international artists, kids shows, science-based-comedy, Orwell Prize Winning authors, Netflix legends, cabaret and spoken word! There aren’t many other places in the world you could see the First Minister, immediately followed by fire eating burlesque dancers.

Job Description:

We are looking for hard working committed individuals who can demonstrate skills and knowledge in lighting, sound and A/V. Knowledge of rigging and/or carpentry would be advantageous but not essential.

Successful applicants will be expected to work as part of a crack team of technicians who are responsible for building, maintaining, running and striking the 3 venues. This will involve the operating of lighting, sound, and A/V equipment as well as partaking in stage management duties.

Candidates will be expected to commit to the contractual dates: July 25th, 2022 to September 3rd, 2022. The Stand’s New Town Theatre is a fair-fringe working environment and is committed to giving all workers a healthy work/life balance. As such, working hours will allow for shift based work in addition to regular days off. Payment starts from £11 per hour.
