Al's Pals Presents Howl-Arious! A Comedy Fundraiser in Aid of Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter have been saving the lives of animals since 1896! That’s right for 130 years! An incredible organisation which has matched many people with their beloved pet, and now it is time to help them with the power of laughter!

Al’s Pals presents a night of laughter with some incredible comedians! Profits from your tickets will be going directly to Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter! The North East community comes together like no one else and so let’s do that for those little guys with paws!

Hosting the show we have Al Stevenson;

Al Stevenson is the sharp-witted lad from Newcastle, with “bulletproof confidence” (Stand Newcastle), his charm allows him to tear through an audience with a cheeky grin. His “relentlessly hilarious” (Carl Hutchinson) performances of his “brilliant jokes” (Jack Whitehall) have seen him go all the way to Best In Class 2025 at Edinburgh Fringe, Beat The Frog World Series Finals, be tour support for Mark Nelson, Carl Hutchinson and many more and sellout the prestigious Stand Comedy Club with his debut solo show!

Opening the show we have Tom Taylor!

Multi-award winning comedian Tom Taylor has received high praise from audiences and critics alike. His unique brand of musical comedy is smart and silly in equal measure and he can boast an impressive stock of quirky and very funny, musical one-liners. In 2013 Tom reached the final of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition, the following year he was a finalist in the Hobgoblin Comedy Award and in 2015 he took home the award for Comedian of the Year at the inaugural Great Yorkshire Fringe. In 2017, he picked up the Audience Favourite Award at the Musical Comedy Awards and reached the final of English Comedian of the Year in 2018. A favourite of live bookers across the UK, Tom has also supported Simon Munnery, John Kearns and Abandoman on tour and performed on Radio 2 and Radio 4 as part of the BBC Radio New Comedy Award.

In the middle we have both Matty Oxley and Kit Alan:

Matty Oxley is a Teeside based comedian who gigs across the UK telling funny tales about his life with a disability, he is multi-award winning and has also had multiple TV appearances, such as: • Runner up in Mr Shindigs New Act of The Year 2019 • Semi-Finalist BBC New Comedy Awards 2022 • Rosie Jones’s Disability Extravaganza 2023 Kit Alan is a new up and coming comic from Newcastle, and she is absolutely tearing through the UK circuit! Already putting her name on the map! Early on she has managed to become a Semi-Finalist for So You Think You’re Funny 2026 and a Finalist of Felt Nowt New Act Of The Year 2026!

Headlining the show we have the comedy legend Jack Gleadow:

Hull’s very own Jack Gleadow is a rising star in the world of comedy, known for his high-energy performances packed with physical comedy, razor-sharp storytelling, music, and audience interaction. His unique blend of old-school variety and modern stand-up has made him one of the most exciting acts on the circuit today. Fresh from performing across the globe, from Las Vegas to Miami, the Caribbean to Dubai, and all across Europe, Jack truly lives up to his title as The International Man of Silly. Back in the UK, he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in comedy, supporting Jason Manford and Clinton Baptiste in some of the country’s most prestigious theatres and arenas.
