John Robertson - The Dark Room

Tuesday 3rd April 2018

You awake to find yourself in a Dark Room! You, the audience must choose an option. Will you: A) Find the Light Switch? B) Cry for Help? C) Go North?
Come and play the world’s first live-action text-based adventure game! It’s a choose-your-own-adventure! So choose it!
The Dark Room blurs the lines between comedy and game show and is enjoyed by gamers, non-gamers, teens and parents.
The audience play as contestants and the rules are simple.
1 - Options appear on the screen.
2 - Audience calls out the option they want.
3 - You’re either right, or dead.
4 - In the end, everybody plays!
Originally an interactive YouTube game, the Dark Room went viral and attracted more than 4 million views. Comedian John Robertson then transformed the game into a live show, and so far, has enjoyed sell out shows at Insomnia Gaming Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, EB Games Expo and MCM Comic Con.

Rob Auton - The Hair Show

Sunday 15th April 2018

A show for anyone who has, or has had, hair and hairs.
Award winning stand-up comedian and poet Rob Auton (Dave’s Funniest Joke Of The Fringe award winner, Glastonbury’s ‘Poet In Residence’) returns with another heart-felt and offbeat comedy/theatre/spoken word show that explores hair and hairs.
Rob casts an introspective eye over the world of hair, underpinned by leaving his head hair and beard to their own devices until he has performed The Hair Show for the final time. Join Rob as he explores the importance of appearance and how people react to someone who looks like he has checked out.
For the past five years Rob has used his command of words and distinctive unconventional humour to explore seemingly mundane subjects: sleep, water, faces, the sky and the colour yellow. These shows have given rise to a cult status at the Fringe. His unique world view has been acknowledged through being shortlisted for the prestigious Spoken Word Award by the Arts Foundation, receiving a Best Short Film nomination for the The Peamaster, which he co-wrote and starred in, at the Milan Film Festival.
Alongside performing solo, Rob hosts 'the best poetry gig in the UK' Times Bang Said The Gun. The spoken-word night’s raucous and anarchic spirit attracts a rich mix of new talent and some of the most established names in poetry/music including KATE TEMPEST, ROGER MCGOUGH and JOHN HEGLEY.
'A genuine original' Guardian
'One of my absolute favourites' Daniel Kitson
'His absurd brand of stand-up and poetry is exactly what the country needs right now' Huffington Post
‘Charming, eccentric and uplifting, Auton is a talent to watch’ Independent
'I haven’t seen anything else quite like it, or him' Stage
