Welcome to The Stand Comedy Club

Established in 1995, the club runs three purpose built venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. We are open seven nights a week with a varied programme of contemporary comedy featuring the best UK and international comedians.

Started by a bunch of enthusiasts as a hobby, The Stand has now become a successful commercial company, but one that is true to its roots of developing new comedy in the UK and giving audiences variety and value. Many performers and critics regard the clubs as among the best comedy venues in the world.

Our sister company have some big things planned as they have taken over the newly refurbished Assembly Rooms. There’s ground-breaking theatre, celebrity names, big name music spectaculars and a strong Scottish theme throughout.
