As part of the Newcastle Improv Festival, Have fun exploring the art of Break Dancing with B-boy Doke of Bad Taste Cru. Discover how the first Bboys and Bgirls danced with breaks, and play Freestyle games to funk and hip-hop music. No experience needed. Just wear comfortable clothing and bring bottled water.
Conor O’Kane (AKA B-Boy Doke) is performer, coach and choreographer of the multi-award-winning ‘Bad Taste Cru’ break dance company, and founder of Just Jam International. BTC, originally from Northern Ireland and based in Newcastle, is a pioneering Hip-hop theatre company and collective of professional break dance instructors. Their passion for education and culture, and spreading knowledge through the positive messages of hip-hop culture, has enabled BTC to work all over the world, taking their education packages as far away as the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
Suitable for adults and young people aged 16+. (Under 16s are not allowed, there is a similar workshop for under 16s before this one.) You might also be interested in the Beats & Rhymes Workshops taking place at the Stand tomorrow, Thursday 1st August.

Newcastle Improv Festival runs over 9-days from Saturday 27th July to Sunday 4th August.
