Following the success of last years 'On Yer Bike Mike - Giz a Job - Available For Work Since The Eighties', Mike is back at The Stand with his latest performance.

In his all- new one hour show ‘Monkey Mind ‘ , Mike Milligan honestly tackles the question asked of many comics “how do you get your ideas?” He does this by looking at his own experiences and knowledge gathered from over 30 years in the business. You’ll find out why the inability to focus in class turned into a blessing on stage, and a recent diagnosis of adult ADHD answered many a teacher’s and drill instructor’s lament of ‘what’s wrong with that boy?” From Buddhist philosophy to modern psychology, he takes us on a whirlwind tour of the workings of comedic creativity - with a rich sprinkling of personal anecdotes, comedy ‘war stories’ and brand new material to illustrate the journey he shares with the audience. You’ll see how our everyday lives are just packed with the absurd and the hilarious, just waiting for a Monkey mind to come along and point it out to us!
‘Mike has an everyman touch that hits the funny gag after gag’ Steffen Peddie, Radio Newcastle
'Chronicle columnist Mike Milligan had the audience rolling with laughter with his hilarious account of growing up on Tyneside in the seventies... a must see....’ Evening Chronicle
‘His new show was as fresh as new paint. I think it’s the best work and most personal show he has ever done!’ Alfie Joey, BBC Radio Newcastle Breakfast Show

Arrive Early for Seating
Tickets for the majority of our shows can be collected at the venue door upon entry however we would still advise arriving a little in advance of our door opening time. This allows you to join a queue as all venues are general admission and a mixture of seating and standing room. This is especially true for Edinburgh and Newcastle if you aim to eat in our clubs as seating with tables tend to be taken quite quickly and we can’t allocate or reserve seating in advance for that purpose.

For Edinburgh Fringe dates during August, we advise you arrive at least 30 minutes before doors open for your selected shows to collect your festival tickets. This allows you to join a queue as all venues are general admission. All venues are seated apart from Stand 1 which is seating and standing room. There is no food service during Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

A concession rate ticket applies to 60+, Students, unemployed, benefit recipients with proof of ID upon collection.

The Stand also allow carers to go free – please just call our box office for further information an to confirm your booking.
