With little more than a microphone to hide behind Stand Up comedy is one of the most unforgiving and terrifying of mediums to practice, and Teddy (a school nickname. For looking fat like a teddy bear) has been through the blender.

Over the last ten years he's been hurt on and offstage, he's fucked up gigs, and he's been fucked up by gigs. He's had his heart broken offstage and he's tried to put it back together onstage.

Fortunately for us and much like fellow Scot, Robert The Bruce (but with better timing and gags), persistence and, more importantly, talent has won through, enabling Teddy to build up an armoury of material and the personality to deliver it, all with his heart on his sleeve. With his winning mix of hard-won sarcasm and vulnerability he's a far, far, far better comic then he'll ever tell you. Clue: ignore the comic, do believe the hype.

Teddy will say "This press release is for a comic who's OK. That doesn't mean OK in that solid, consistent, 'you know what you're getting' type way either. This is the kind of OK that's arrived at by adding the together the good nights and the shite nights and taking the average."

He sounds rubbish, doesn't he? Bear in mind it can't just be that. This is Scotland. Being rubbish isn't enough to hold you back. You also have to work at it. This is a show about the sterling work Teddy has put in to hold himself back professionally and romantically. If normal people have been dicks, they just stop being dicks. If comedians have been dicks – they do a show about it. Nobody's saying it's right.

Why come and see this show? Because surely this is the most honest press release you've read so far.

If you insist on some aggrandisement to sell the show to you, he wrote for Channel 4's Scottish BAFTA winning sketch show Blowout among other shows during a two-year stint at production company The Comedy Unit as a writer, script editor, and broadcaster. He's also co-founder of stand-up troupe The Amazing Bastards.
