One Careless Lady Owner is a bittersweet but ultimately cheeky, charming, funny and heart-warming story of a man growing up not knowing who he is and ultimately loving it.

Who is Johnny Candon, asks Johnny Candon, and who left him here? In his first full length solo Edinburgh Show, Dubliner Johnny looks at how his being adopted at the tender age of two weeks old has affected how he lives his life (is he living the right one?), his loves (comic books and Timelords - a result of nature or nurture?) and his relationship with his newborn son (should he too automatically be given away after a fortnight?).

He also looks at what he remembers of the eventful two weeks before he was adopted (Quite a lot of it actually. All of it exciting, mostly none of it made up). Should he perhaps track down the people responsible for him being born? If only to finally collect on the thirty-five years of Christmas and birthday presents he is surely owed?

Is he from a family of eccentric billionaires who can only really grow richer by having someone they thought long lost to them return in a blaze of glory so they can finally offload the terrible burden of their vast wealth on to his young, strong shoulders?

Or maybe he is the unwanted offspring of a really, really poor family who should definitely be left alone to learn the value of... um... triumph through lonely struggle? Or something. Come on. What if they don't even have a TV? You know? Come on. Getting in touch with the really, really rich people so they can give him all their money and learn that the most precious things sometimes can't be bought is absolutely the kindest thing he could do. Without a doubt.

From a quasi-biographical connection to Superman: The Movie to an irrational fear of spiders, being more annoyed than is normal by Facebook status updates to barely remembered puppies with powers, Johnny examines who he is as well as the numerous who-he-could-have-beens.
