We serve food every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening
and also on Weekday and Sunday at lunchtimes. (There may be food
available on other nights but please give us a call to make sure
the kitchen will be open the night you want to come down.) Like
our comedy, our food is original, exciting and international. We
leave the curly chips and the plastic tasting burgers to others.
At the Stand, everything is cooked fresh on the premises. Like
our signature dish of Beef Chilli - that’s real shoulder
of beef, real chillies and real garlic - stewed for four hours
until tasty and tender. Or our Chicken Wrap - made with
strips of marinated free range chicken, roast peppers, melted
gruyere cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with home
made salsa and crème fraiche.
We always try to have a good
range of vegetarian dishes on the menu too - not just the
basics like Bean Nachos, but Ratatouille
with Savoury Cous-Cous.

The Stand kitchen is run by
Matthew Steven who never ceases to be inventive in trying
our different specials each week. The food is there as a service
to our punters and we only aim to break even on it. Therefore,
we can keep the prices right down and offer tasty wholesome and
filling meals from just a fiver or less.
On weekend nights the food is
designed to be eaten on the hoof and is served on disposable
plates at our self service hot food bar. At other times when we
are not so busy we can serve you and the menu - especially at
Sunday lunch - can hold its own with the best restaurants in the
city.
If you are a big group, or
hiring the club for a private function, we can also create
special buffet for you. We have a range of sample menus to show
you, but we pride ourselves in working with you to create a
terrific spread that will get your party remembered for ages.
