‘Alun Cochrane will always be a daydreamer, in particular concocting schemes to assassinate animals… his amiable stage-manner has been honed to near-perfection [and] allied to some top-notch material’ **** List

Other things Alun does that may lead to (possibly less silly) stand-up material include eating, sleeping, driving, being a son, father, brother, boyfriend, friend, mortgage-holder, clothes-wearer, car-owner, radio-listener, train-traveller, door-opener (and closer), alcohol-consumer, hangover-sufferer, newspaper flicker-through-er, occasional football watcher, and general liver of life, in short; he gets material from anywhere he wanders in mind or body.

He does some observational comedy,

‘A lot of people do observational comedy but you need a Jerry Seinfeld kind of eye for the details of life combined with a warm enough personality to pull the audience into your world to be really good at it. Alun has both of these essential qualities in spades.’ ***** Mirror

And he often tells stories.

‘A master storyteller, holding the audience before dropping an exploding but simple punchline’ Metro

On Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1) he devoted most of his set to retelling the tale of a train journey on which a man ate a peach and drank a can of Redbull. Some of his other stories have more things happen in them.

He’s made several TV appearances on 8 out of Ten Cats and Mock The Week, whilst on the airwaves 2009 has seen (or is it heard?) his first foray into breakfast show broadcasting for XFM Manchester.

He popped up mocking himself on Radio Four on 4 Stands Up and mocking the housing market on The Now Show.

In this the new age of austerity is the down-to-earth but nonetheless imaginative daydreaming of a Scottish Yorkshireman (who drives a Skoda on tour) exactly what people need?

After this show plays the Edinburgh festival (at night) he’s going to the Lake District to stay in a Yurt (it’s a special tent) then in September he’s off on tour (in his Skoda).
